Career Opportunity as Content Creator in Mental Health

As we move towards a digital era, the country witnesses a sharp increase in the number of content creators and influencers. Career community platforms like Indeed report a significant rise in job postings related to content creation and influencing. Latest statistics tell us how the content creator community has witnessed an exponential growth of 45 million, which doubles the strength during the TikTok era. Almost 50 million posts are created each day and floated across almost 40,000 channels with over 100,000 subscribers. This clearly indicates a 45% year-on-year growth!

You will be stunned to know how YouTube’s creative ecosystem alone has contributed over 16,000 crores to the country’s GDP and has supported almost 7.5 lakh full-time jobs.

Clearly, India’s creator economy has immense potential to boost economic growth, increasing job prospects, and impacting cultural influence. These content creators can play a massive role in promoting mental wellness simply by the creation of uplifting and informative content, spreading not just awareness, but also by developing online supportive communities.

Now that our honorable Prime minister, Shri. Narendra Modi has flagged the importance of content creation in mental health space, there cannot be a better time to be a mental health creator and make a career in educating people about mental health.

Mr. Modi has encouraged social media content creators to leverage their influence and social media presence to promote positive messages and thereby contribute to the wellbeing of the masses, including mental health awareness.

His exact words, Main samay se pehle samay ko bhanp leta hoon (By God's grace, I can sense time ahead of time), shed light on the booming scope in this field in the upcoming times.

He emphasized the power of a purpose-driven collaboration in content creation, stressing its importance to make a meaningful impact. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of content aligning with digital platforms, and how it can bring about transformative changes in society. Mr. Modi urged the content creators of India to focus more on crafting content that builds a resonance with themselves and with the broader populace of our nation, fostering unity and garnering widespread appreciation.

Social media has created some of the biggest impacts for industries across the world. We have firsthand examples of our favorite creators who went from rags to riches and small businesses that grew from small to medium to large.

An important observation made by him in this regard, was how the digital space is filled with information and content creators, but there is barely any fresh content in the mental health space.

There is Divija Bhasin, Jay Shetty, Komal (myhappiness), and Ashna Sharma to name a few, who are talking about mental health in the digital platform.
